7 Reasons Why Hipsters Make Great Traveling Companions
| March 30, 2016
They know the cool neighborhoods before the chain restaurants do
Whether they want to admit it or not (and most don’t want to admit it), hipsters are by nature trendsetters. They’re the risk takers who find an upcoming neighborhood before anyone else does.
Many times, they actually create the neighborhood themselves, like the Hayes Valley Proxy Project in San Francisco, which features food and art in shipping containers.
The downside is that soon, the rest of the world swarms into the neighborhood because that’s where all the fun is and yuppification begins. Hostels are converted to overpriced boutique hotels and the trendiest beer bar in Prague is converted into a Hard Rock Café.
Follow their lead now, while the neighborhood still exists.
