Schiehallion – Perthshire
For Scottish adventurers, climbing Munros – mountains over 3,000 feet – is a popular pastime. Schiehallion is one of the easiest Munros to climb, which makes it a perfect beginner hike. The 6.25-mile trail has a well-marked path for most of the journey, but if you want to get to the actual summit, you’ll have to climb across some boulders at the very top. The views at the top are absolutely spectacular. On a clear day, you can see for miles in every direction.
This hiking trail is best to tackle in summer. In the winter, you’ll need lots of specialized gear in order to make it through the ice.
