Burghausen Castle
Located in the picturesque town on Burghausen, this castle overlooks the cheerful pastel buildings and the romantic cobbled streets. It is indeed an imposing attraction, the longest European castle, and the main touristic stop of the place.
Dating back to the 11th century, Burghausen was also the strongest fortress of the region, thanks to its length of over 1000 meters. Aside from the medieval beauty guarded by the walls, the castle offers an incredible view over the town. You can admire the church, the hall, the Salzach River and a pinch of Austria, the “next door” neighbor.
