5. The Desert

This might seem counterintuitive at first, but a desert vacation actually makes a lot of sense for a young family. You aren’t going to have a toddler out in the sun for long anyway, so it won’t matter much if the temperatures are soaring into the triple digits. Desert resorts tend to have golf for dad and a spa for mom, so everyone should be able to enjoy the trip (while sharing babysitting duties).

6. London (or another great world city)

While you might not want to raise your kids in a big city such as London, taking a trip to a world-class city is an experience you won’t soon forget. Since you will be in a big city, it will be easy to pick up any supplies you need for your child along the way.

7. Child Friendly Bed and Breakfast

Not all Bed and Breakfast facilities are suited for kids, but those that are tend to be well-equipped to help you with anything you might need. Since this will ‘feel’ more like a home than a hotel, your child may be more comfortable as well. And a comfortable child is one that (hopefully) will get a good night’s sleep.

Whistler, or another ski resort, makes for a great selection because of the all-inclusive resorts that can be found at the base of the mountains. Ski towns tend to be tightly packed and easily walkable, meaning you won’t have to load your kids into the car each time you want to go out for something to eat.

9. Indoor Water Park

This kind of destination is becoming more and more popular, as indoor water parks continue to pop up around the country. These parks usually have hotel rooms on site, so the kids can walk down to the water park and spend the whole time having a great time on the slides and in the pools.
