A Night Out at the Theater: The Theatrical Sensations Currently Sweeping the Globe

Frozen

Disney’s Theatrical Productions have seen great success in the past few years, and their newest production — Frozen — is no different. Plans for a Frozen musical started in 2014, mere months after the movie was released.

While the movie was definitely targeted for children, the subject matter of the musical was aged up significantly. The story focuses on the relationships between the sisters, as well as Elsa’s fear of her own powers, and doesn’t shy away from the tragedy of the sisters losing their parents at an early age.  Most of the songs written for the film are included in the musical, along with 13 other original songs written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
