6. Tourtière
Tourtière is a meat pie that traditionally accompanies the holiday festivities in Quebec – served on either Christmas or New Year’s, depending on your family tradition. While generic meat pies typically contain a variety of veggies along with the meat, tourtière cuts to the chase and gives you a dish that’s primarily meat, encased in a warm, buttery pastry crust. Typically, pork and beef are used, but tourtières can also contain a variety of wild game, depending on the season.
