In the Movies: Movie Locations You Can Actually Visit

2. The Firestation – Ghostbusters
The building that stood in for the exterior shots of the original Ghostbusters HQ is actually a real firehouse. It stands at the corner of Varick and North Moore Streets in Tribeca neighbourhood of New York City.
The film crew was allowed to use it for exterior shots, but all interiors were re-created on a sound stage, because it’s an actual working firehouse. It’s home to Hook & Ladder Company 8, who were some of the first responders to the 9/11 attack. It even made an appearance in the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, and will probably play a part in any sequels.
