Bárðarbunga Volcano, Iceland
Iceland is home to beautiful barren landscapes, but is situated on top of two tectonic plates and a mountain of molten lava, making it home to around 30 volcanoes. The second largest of them, Bárðarbunga, began erupting again in August of 2014, attracting danger-seeking travelers from across the globe. Don’t get too close, though: Volcanoes are obviously unpredictable and can emit poisonous gases.
