12. KFC Christmas Dinner – Japan

In 1970, an executive from Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan woke up with an amazing idea – a bucket of fried chicken that could be sold on Christmas Day for people to feast on in lieu of the traditional Western Christmas dinner. The idea took off, and soon it was more than just expats buying the meal – regular Japanese people who had never celebrated Christmas wanted to get in on the fun. Now, the buckets have to be ordered in advance, but if you put your order in early enough, you can enjoy a “Kentucky for Christmas” party barrel of your very own.
