4. Amelia Earhart

Earhart was born in 1897 in America and is known as the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Throughout her teenage years, she always looked up to women who were successful in careers dominated by men.

She worked different jobs and saved $1,000 for flying lessons, getting her license in 1923. In June 1932, she crossed the Atlantic from Newfoundland to Ireland in just under 15 hours. She, unfortunately, disappeared when trying to fly around the globe in 1937.
