15. Papaya Salad – Thailand

To finish it off I’ll come back to Thailand and present another famous street food, papaya salad or locally called Som Tam. I must admit I didn’t know what I was getting myself into the first time I tried it, but my burning tongue and watering eyes quickly showed it to me!

If you don’t like hot food, I’d stay away from papaya salad if I were you! However, if you dig it, then by all means, stuff your face. It’s important to note that although it has papaya, it’s not a sweet salad. They use strips of green papaya, chili, sugar, lime, fish sauce, tomatoes, and peanuts.
