14. Blueberries – North America
When it comes to berries, North America takes the cake! Whether it’s cranberries, blackberries, or blueberries, nearly all of them first originated in Canada and the USA. Highbush blueberries were only introduced to Europe in 1930.
The USA is the biggest producer of blueberries, followed by Canada. It’s now produced around the world, all the way to Australia and New Zealand. Blueberries adapted well to South American countries with Peru, Chile, and Argentina being the main producers.
