Eat Pray Love (2010)

Eat Pray Love is the soul searching movie for the modern woman. Starring Julia Roberts, it’s about a recently divorced woman unsatisfied with her life who travels around the world to find herself. Following in Liz Gilbert’s (Roberts) footsteps, many young women were inspired to go out into the world to do some soul searching.

This movie shows us that when we don’t travel, we’re missing out on a whole world of possibilities. Through immersing ourselves in other cultures like Liz did, we become stronger people. Like Liz, when we explore this world, we gain a better sense of our own identity.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Forrest Gump, as played by Tom Hanks, taught us all about how fulfilling experiencing this world can be. This movie showed people how big the world really is, and more importantly, it showed us how much the world has to offer. The movie taught us that everywhere we go there are amazing people, incredible adventures, and plenty of stories to bring home. And through Forrest’s adventures, we realized that just by simply getting out there and taking part in the world, we can make a big difference, and change a lot of lives.

Just like Mamma Gump taught us, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” It’s a big, crazy, chaotic adventure, and it’s not always sunshine and roses. But if we learned anything from Forrest, it’s this: we should get out there anyways. Because it’s our world, and we should all be a part of it.
