3. You’ll Gain a New Appreciation for Nature

When you live in the city, you don’t realize (or you forget) just what’s out there. You get used to your environment.

But then you decide to get away. Maybe you want to see mountains, or go camping, or maybe you just want to hit the road with no destination in mind. Even if you live out in the countryside, once you’re on the road with the windows rolled down, or in the middle of the woods, or relaxing with your feet dangling over the side of a cliff so massive that looking down gives you a mini-heart attack (Don’t actually do this, by the way, it’s super dangerous), you just take in a deep breath and enjoy it.

To just sit back and enjoy the world — the real world out there, not your own little habitat — gives you an indescribable feeling of contentment. It feels like everything is OK. The world is still turning, and there are still pockets of infinite beauty for us to behold. And when you return to your home, you’ll miss it. The sight of the clear night sky, the orange-red horizon you can see when the sun sets, the sounds of life all around you carrying on, the fresh smell of air not yet tainted by car fumes and farts.

It’s simply awe-inspiring.
