A popular Korean breakfast is sweet, warming hobakjuk – a tasty bowl of pureed pumpkin or squash mixed with glutinous rice until it forms a thick soup or pudding (depending on how thick you like it!). Once the hobakjuk reaches a perfectly smooth consistency, glutinous rice dumplings, called tteok, are dropped in on top, along with other toppings like pine nuts or sesame seeds.

It’s an extremely popular comfort food all over Korea, so you’ll most likely see people eating it if they’re feeling under the weather.
