Crossing time zones in your travels is guaranteed to leave you feeling out of sorts. To get the most out of your trip, plan ahead to avoid the dilemma of feeling hungry, sleepy and wakeful at all the wrong times. Change your bedtime at home to sync with the time at your destination. Avoid alcohol and caffeine on the plane, and use an eye mask and earplugs to help you sleep during an overnight flight. And when you finally arrive, get out for a walk, drink lots of water, and wait until bedtime in your new location before giving in to sleep.
