Hong Kong – Gai Daan Jai
A junk food so traditional Hong Kong doesn’t know how it originated, Gai Daan Jai literally translates to “little chicken eggs.” Don’t worry PETA, the Hong Kong population is not enamored with tiny poultry eggs!
The name comes from the egg-crate shape of the waffles. There are only three simple ingredients in this delicious delicacy – flour, eggs, and sugar. Gai Daan Jai is sold at many reputable restaurants and street vendors around Hong Kong.
