11. Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival – Harbin, China

The Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival takes place each year during the month of January in Harbin, China. This festival has been attracting sculptors from all over the world since 1985. Each year there is a new theme and sculptors compete to win the award of the best ice or snow sculpture. For onlookers, there are plenty of other chilling activities going on, such as swimming in the Songhua River, an ice lantern exhibit, and skiing. Some of the world’s biggest ice sculptures can be seen at the celebration.
