Although there are no known cases of Zika currently in Portugal, scientists are worried because they believe that the local Tiger mosquito is completely capable of carrying the virus if infected. This would mean that if just one person traveling to Portugal carrying the Zika virus was bitten by a local mosquito, it could spell disaster as the disease would then spread throughout Europe.
