4 Harmless Pranks to Liven Up Your Next Road Trip (and 2 Friendship-Ending Ones)

B-Movie Apocalypse (Not for the Faint of Heart)

For the finale, I have one that remains untested. As someone who watches a lot of horror movies, there are some tropes that become clear. “Waking up in the middle of the worst scenario possible” seems to be the easiest to use, hardest to explain, and easiest to recreate.

With some secret help from the driver, try to hit some country roads as the sun is setting. Out there, the smooth roads can quickly give way to gravel and some really eerie scenery. All you have to do is wait until someone falls asleep and the preparation can begin. Pull onto a side road, park and open all the doors, get all the passengers to lie down around the car but two: the sleeper and the bait. While everyone is playing dead, have the bait frantically wake up the sleeper with some rambled nonsense script from a bad horror movie — something about a creature or aliens — and direct their attention to the prone figures. Enjoy the show!
