5 Pieces of Advice for Chocolate Lovers Traveling to Belgium
Talk about it with locals
Don’t be shy! Locals love their chocolate and they’re more than happy to talk about it! Belgians are, as I like to call them, certified chocolate connoisseurs – chocoholics that have grown up having the finest chocolate for desert. Or sometimes for lunch. Or for dinner. You get it!
They do take chocolate seriously and, when your country’s abounding of exquisite handmade chocolates, you can’t turn out to be other way. They’ll tell you about chocolate’s history – among other things, you’ll find out how pralines and truffles were born over here — and you’ll find out stuff that no museum is able to reveal.
You’ll notice a strong emotional connection between them and their chocolate brands, and you’ll totally resonate with that! I mean, how can you not bond with chocolate, anyway? And especially when your home country is famous for producing some of the finest bars in the world. So yes, you have a lot to learn from locals and they’re usually very happy to share their precious knowledge with travelers.
