Manage Your Anxiety
Now comes the hard part… actually flying. There are lots of ways you can try to manage your anxiety to prevent a panic attack. Avoid caffeine on the day you fly, as that can worsen the symptoms of anxiety. Try doing some deep breathing exercises and meditation during the take-off if you feel your anxiety building. Some people suggest putting a rubber band around your wrist and snapping it to distract yourself, while others recommend simply drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Just try not to get kicked off the plane for being drunk and belligerent.
