You start looking at other flights, wondering if you can get something better. You make promises to the universe, trying to talk it into fixing the plane, upping your side of the deal from “I’ll never litter” to “I’ll live like Mother Teresa.” The clock ticks on. You may or may not be in purgatory.
Boarding
Hark! The plane has come, and it’s time to board at last! With renewed vigor, you cheerfully make your way to the seat, and you don’t even really care that the guy beside you is wearing some pretty unadvisable cologne. You’re on the plane, which means you’re basically halfway home.
