Visiting Rio’s World Wonder: Christ the Redeemer

How do I get to Christ the Redeemer?

You can take a bus to Cosme Velho, where the Christ is located on the top of Corcovado (a mountain), and there is a convenient bus stop right outside the tram station. It is also very simple to take a taxi, and under 20USD roundtrip.

Once you arrive, you will have your choice of options – either the train (the traditional route), or a van (faster but less scenic). It’s DEFINITELY worth it, and the same price, to take the train, as you’ll be blessed with wonderful views and a delightful breeze on your way up Corcovado mountain to reach the Christ.

After all the passengers board the tram (on the way up, try to sit on the left hand side when looking up at the mountain, and on the way down the right when looking down the mountain, for the best views), it will make its way up to the top. The views are so picturesque and the clean air with a slight breeze is so refreshing.

Once at the top, you will climb the stairs to reach the viewing platform (there is also an elevator option for anyone with a physical impediment).
