How to Learn a New Language for Your Next Adventure
| February 26, 2018
1. Visit the Country
You can study a language for as long as you want and even achieve a high proficiency level, but nothing beats visiting or living in a foreign country. When you’re forced to do everything in another language, from asking for directions to ordering a meal in a restaurant, that’s when you really learn it.
And by living and interacting with locals, you start to identify different dialects and get used to slangs and idioms you may never have heard before. That’s one of the reasons why exchange programs are so effective, even if you only stay in the country for a month or two.
