20 Reasons You Should Travel With Your Kids

Non-Theme Park Experiences Rock

Theme parks definitely have their place, and they can be great for family vacations. But I’m one of those hipsters who wonders what awesome stuff we could see for the same price as spending a day in artificial Europe. My brother and his kids are National Park pros, and some of our family friends save the money they might have used for theme parks toward trips to actual Europe. There are plenty of fun things to do beyond the gates.

Or if you, like my parents, wish you could give your kids the theme park experience but have no money, you can take them to the shopping center next to Disneyland and tell them they’re in Disneyland and make a rule that they can take pictures with the things they want to buy but they can’t actually buy anything. Not that I have albums full of myself frowning by Simba plushies. Nope.
