Avoid Tourist Centers
You’re not going to find restaurants worth eating at around the Spanish Steps in Rome. Why? Because any smart business owner is gearing their menus toward the hordes of tourist clamoring into the neighborhood to see the infamous steps (I bet none of them even know why they’re so famous, either). We found some awesome food in the student section of Rome out in Trastevere where not many tourists roam.
Also, if there’s someone standing outside the restaurant trying to coerce you in like it’s a nightclub in Cancun, run away.
