2. Several Jabs Needed
No, you don’t have to walk around with medical protective gear like you’re in the movie Contagion! However, you do need to research the areas you’ll be visiting, so you can make sure you take all the necessary vaccinations. It’s easy to find this info online, but you can check with your family doctor as well.
If you intend to stay in the big cities, you’ll probably just need the “classics” (Hepatitis A, Typhoid Fever, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, etc.). But you may also need Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis, and Rabies, just in case you come across a crazy monkey frothing at the mouth.
