Borobodur, Java, Indonesia
Borobodur is a huge, ancient Buddhist monument built pyramid style over nine levels. It was built between 760 and 830 CE, when two million stone blocks were transported by horses, oxen and elephants up the hill. Instead of using mortar, the blocks are constructed to fit together perfectly. It is the world’s largest Buddhist monument.
