Christ the Redeemer

Beginning at the beautiful Parque Lage, you can choose a less common path (literally) to the ever famous Carioca attraction by hiking up Christ the Redeemer. Before starting the hike, you’ll register at the entrance of the trail with security guards and then begin on your way.

In total, the trail will range from easy to moderate to fairly difficult, and take approximately 2 hours. It sometimes gets quite muddy and steep, so wear sneakers or hiking shoes. You’ll be blessed with views of small waterfalls, lush vegetation, and occasional monkeys.

Be sure to buy your ticket to the Christ the Redeemer online or through a tour kiosk before setting out on the hike, because they are not always sold at the top and it would be a serious disappointment to get all the way there and have to turn around.
