Great Barrier Reef, Australia
Located just off the coast of Queensland, Australia, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef system in the entire world. Composed of 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands, the system stretches for 1,400 miles and is the single largest structure made by living organisms. Popular areas for scuba divers are the Cairns and Whitsundays areas, although they only make up 7% of the total area of the reef system.
Don’t miss the chance to take an excursion on a liveaboard ship, which offers accommodations aboard and gives divers the rare opportunity to dive at night.
