Brazil’s 9 Best Cities
Brasilia
A pre-planned city, Brasilia was named the capital of Brazil in 1960. Former President Kubitschek is sometimes hailed as the mastermind of the city, which was organized and developed down to the smallest detail in such a meticulous way that many refer to it as a utopia. The city is especially noteworthy for its shape, which is an airplane. Each section serves a different purpose and is a different district, including purposes of government, commerce, residential, and arts and culture.
In fact, the city has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its unique attributes. The city is home to many beautiful and interesting buildings, including Oscar Niemeyer-designed Palacio do Planalto (the office of the President), and the Brasilia Cathedral.
