Australia
Many people living in North America have this image of Australia as a crazy party country, where people go to get smashed and lie on the beach all day. While this is definitely true of some Australians (who doesn’t love a cold Fosters?), there’s a whole country of people that this stereotype is overlooking.
This year, Australia actually topped the OECD Better Life Index. The country ranked extremely high in quality of life, with people living around two full years longer than the global average. Plus, most Australians are actually engaged in the way their country runs. Their voter turnout was over 93% in the last election — something unheard of in the States, where the average voter turnout is around 60%.
