13. Touching someone’s head – Thailand
Touching someone’s head is not something you shouldn’t do only in Thailand, but anywhere with a Buddhist majority. Patting one’s back or ruffling a kid’s hair might be a way of showing affection in the West, but not everywhere.
A person’s head is considered the most sacred part of the body and one should never touch it. In case you do it by accident, make sure to promptly apologize.
