5. Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina
Most don’t immediately associate images of snow with the rich culture of Argentina, but believe it or not, the country is home to one of the coldest and most awe-inspiring winter locales you’ll ever lay eyes on. Due to global warming, most frozen climates have been losing their glaciers, but at Los Glaciares, they’re actually increasing in size. The mountains are filled with diverse wildlife such as eagles and condors, and one portion of the park hosts three glaciers converging to crumble and crack into Lago Argentino, a process known as calving.
