3 Wandering Squares to Fancy in Malmö Sweden
2. Lilla Torg – the place where you’ll take a delightful break
Lilla Torg square (also known as the small square), with its cobbled streets and colombage style buildings (dating from the 16th-17th centuries) will help you get an idea about the charming old look of the city.
It was built back in 1592 and it’s the place where both locals and travelers hang out and dine, thanks to the fact that its edges are packed with plenty of restaurants, pubs, cafes and outdoor terraces. You’ll be able to walk freely on the streets, most of which are pedestrian-only. In the center, you can admire many interesting houses and buildings dating from different historical periods, especially houses of the sixteenth century.
Enjoy a cup of coffee, relax and watch people. Lilla Torg is one of the busiest places in Malmo, regardless of the season. Numerous coquette cafes with welcoming patios are gathered in this town square. All of them serving various food dishes, from the traditional delicacies to sushi, there’s something to suit everyone’s cravings.
Don’t forget to take plenty of photos of the famous, picturesque Burgher’s and Merchant’s houses that create a colorful, nice view.
Having a relaxing time, watching people, admiring astonishing buildings – the perfect definition of a Swedish style break, isn’t it?
