5 Swiss Alpine Towns You’ll Love
Check Out the Wonder Between Two Alpine Lakes
Located between two alpine lakes — Thun and Brienz – Interlaken is the place where mountainous landscapes walk hand in hand with elegant, Victorian buildings. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? The town lies along three charming mountains: Eiger, Monch and, the highest of them all, Jungfrau – that has a dizzying height of 4158 meters.
Hoheweg Boulevard is the resort’s main artery that crosses it from east to west. This town is proudly wearing its stories and mountain beauties. The boulevard meets many other adjacent streets that lead to different hotels, hostels and guest houses. Some of them even end up at the entrance of the mountains’ shady, thick forests. Fantastic! Wherever you are on Hoheweg, you’ll feel like the Alpine scenery is warmly hugging you. Interlaken is a small oasis of civilization situated in an outstandingly beautiful landscape.
An important tourist attraction is the Museum of Tourism, but I’ve also noticed a cable car and some bike renting centers for those of you who want to have a natural, entertaining good time.
And, if you’re into adrenaline-releasing activities, here is some good news for you: Interlaken was called the adventure capital of Switzerland. Indeed, the town has become a kind of Mecca for lovers of winter sports, paragliding or hang gliding. Talking about the variety of activities available over here, well, the sky is the limit – paragliding, bungee jumping, canyon tours, rafting, climbing, mountain biking, skydiving, skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides, ice skating – they’re all here.
Leaving the town behind, I was happy I discovered another corner of paradise, a very special one.
