5 Swiss Alpine Towns You’ll Love

Montreux Is a Kind of Magic!

Montreux – the city where I took most of my pictures – is located where else but at the foot of the Swiss Alps.

Montreux is a place of contrasts, where the lake meets the mountains. The lake’s quays make a perfect alley for pleasant walks, gathering vegetation from several continents and seasons: palm trees, roses, daffodils, exotic trees, tiny mountain flowers or Secular trees share the same beautifully landscaped and perfectly delineated space.

The Chateau de Chillon castle was built between the 11th and 12th centuries (on a rock that’s emerging from the lake) and it became a symbol of the area. Here you can admire superb collections of furniture, dishes and weapons. It’s basically visible from any place: from the resort, from the quays, from the lake or even from the mountain.

Don’t miss Freddie Mercury’s bronze statue in the central square (Place du Marché). Back in 1991, the artist has lived here, making his last recordings.
