5 Things to Do in Kinsale, Ireland

4. Eat and Shop

As mentioned before, Kinsale is famous for its gourmet food. We were two college students on a tight budget, and not exactly prepared for this. But don’t let the sometimes steep prices turn you away! The food is amazing, and worth stretching your purse for. I highly recommend grabbing afternoon tea and cakes at the Poet’s Corner—a sweet little book exchange/coffeeshop.

There are plenty of local shops in Kinsale, selling everything from art prints to knitted sweaters to books. Kinsale Bookshop was one of my favorites (I bought a charming illustrated collection of Irish fairytales there for my nieces), though the other indie bookstore (aptly named Bookstór) is also nice.

My friend loved the Glenaran Irish Market (so many clothes!). For people with more to spend (aka not college students), there are also some lovely jewelers and other handcrafted wares.
