6 Tips for Driving the Ring Road in Iceland

6. Have a Snack/Drink Bag

As the child of a Navy officer and therefore a veritable Patron of Road Trips, this is an essential I never hit the road without: A snack and drink bag. In Iceland, this is particularly important. Fast food is scarce, and any sort of restaurant can be few and far between.

Before you leave town, pick up a few snacks that can double as meals (like cheese, bread, and fruit). Also be sure to grab a caffeinated beverages and plenty of water!

(Bonus: Also have a trash bag already set up for the rubbish you go through. This will keep your car relatively clean and nice the whole way around!)
