Kalemegdan Park will make our break a little more special

After a long, long walk, it’s time to rest for a bit. The Kalemegdan Park is two steps away from Knez Mihailova and it offers an amazing view of the Sava and Danube rivers from its vantage point.

There’s a lot to see in terms of monuments, too. The Statue of Victor, A La France, the Despot Stefan Lazarevic Monument, the Branko Radicevic Monument and the Tomb of National Heroes will keep our eyes and attention busy for a while. For the art lovers out there, let me tell you that the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts hosts various changing exhibitions within the park’s Cvijeta Zuzoric Art Pavilion. The entrance is free, so don’t miss it!

Also, if you’re in a spiritual mood, or you’re just driven by curiosity, stop by the Ruzica Church (once a gunpowder magazine) and the St. Petka’s Church, both located right here.

Did you know that this cherished spot offers a stunning view to Kalemegdan Fortress, which used to be Belgrade’s main defensive structure? Indeed, and now we’re going to move on and discover this magnificent fort!
