Bike Heaven: Top Bicycle Friendly Cities in the World
| September 25, 2017
Eindhoven, Netherlands
Although Eindhoven is a tiny town, it has embraced bicycling as a lifestyle, not just as a way of getting around. This is evidenced by the magnificent bicycle paths that have been built over the last few years. The Hovenring is a massive circular structure that seems to hover over a central intersection, which not only looks amazing but makes it easy for bikes to pass over car traffic.
The Van Gogh-Roosegaarde Cycle Path was opened in 2014. It’s a glow-in-the-dark tribute to Van Gogh’s Starry Night, painted right onto a central city bike path.
