Dazzling Firework Displays Around the World

Montreal International Fireworks Competition – Canada

Every July and August, the French-Canadian city of Montreal plays host to a massive fireworks competition, where teams from different countries compete to see whose pyrotechnic displays are the most beautiful, complex, and awe-inspiring. Each weekend, a different country puts on a themed display — some of the upcoming ones for this year are “Of Games and Thrones” (from the Philippine team), and “The Butterfly Lovers” (Team China). The fireworks are so huge that they’re visible across the city, but for the best view, head to Parc Jean-Drapeau, and get there early for the best seats. Fireworks start every Saturday at 10 p.m.
