Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach – Outer Banks, North Carolina

Ocracoke is a long, narrow island located off the coast of North Carolina. It’s a remarkable place because except for one small residential area, the rest of the island is parkland and waterfront.

To get to the Lifeguarded Beach, you’ll have to cross a long boardwalk, which puts you really close to the water. There aren’t many amenities, so if you’re coming for the day, you’ll need to bring things like towels, umbrellas, and snacks with you. However, as a trade off you get a beach that’s much less busy then the rest of the Outer Banks area, where you can spot wild horses, hunt for shells, and swim uninterrupted.
