Escape Your Life: Unique Jobs You Can Get Abroad
Centre for Contemporary Art in Ujazdowski Castle (Poland)
If you’ve ever wanted to make art and live in a castle, this is the job opportunity for you. Ujazdowski Castle is a gorgeous Baroque-Neoclassical castle that was fully completed in 1624, and has seen many generations of royalty pass through its doors. Now, it houses the Warsaw Center for Contemporary Art, which has organized hundreds of exhibitions of both national and international art in the 30 years. The Center also offers residencies to artists, who can apply to come and live in the castle (or in a gorgeous modern building near the grounds) to work on a project of their choosing.
There are two suites available to artists in the castle itself, which come complete with a computer lab, theater, and basic laboratory and carpentry equipment. The residency is one month long, and is open to artists of any discipline. The Center has an illustrious list of program alumnae, who are currently promoting their work all over the world.
