Top 15 Most Dangerous Airports in the World!
| March 22, 2016
3. Matekane Air Strip, Lesotho
With a runway that’s barely over 1,300 feet long, the Matekane air strip is a challenging feat. What makes it one of the most dangerous is that it’s located at the edge of a 7,550 feet high mountain corridor, so as soon as you take off, you’re already 7,550 feet high in the air. Better make sure to get that takeoff just right. The landing is just as challenging because there’s a high chance of hitting the corridor if the pilot slows the plane too soon as well as the risk of not slowing soon enough and running out of room.
