2. Chilkoot Trail
This is one of the few trails that passes between two countries – the Chilkoot Trail stretches from British Columbia to Alaska, and has been in use for centuries. It was originally used by the First Nations people, but was also frequented by gold prospectors in the late 19th century.
Along the way, you may see equipment abandoned by unlucky prospectors which are now part of the landscape. Prepare for all kinds of weather while you’re on this trail – snow has been seen on the ground here as late as July.
