The little pools are often fed by waterfall, and the slick pebbles at the bottom can be seen through the crystal clear water. These pools are deep enough for swimming, although the freezing cold water is a deterrent to many. Most hikers who are lucky enough to find the pools are content to just take pictures, as the blue water and the natural mineral deposits on the rocks surrounding the pools make for a very striking photograph.
