3 Underrated Destinations in Peru
When I was traveling around South America, I met a few people who had only 10 days to visit Chile, Bolivia and Peru. Guess what their itinerary was? Just read the first paragraph of this article and you’ll find out.
There were three ladies who arrived at Cusco in the evening, visited Machu Picchu the following morning and in the afternoon they were flying out to La Paz. They looked so tired and rushed. It was scary!
I mean, of course not everyone can take long trips, but if you only have 10 days, please, do yourself a favor and just visit one country.
Peru is beautiful and has lots to offer, but to really feel its culture, you have to dig deeper. You have to go past Machu Picchu — or even miss it altogether – to mingle with locals and hear their stories.
Once you wear the explorer hat, you’ll find places you’ve never heard of before — I never knew Kuelap existed before I started traveling! So, I’ve just mentioned a few places I fell in love with, but the list is actually extensive.
