The Best Distilleries in Scotland
Highland Park
It might take a while to get to Highland Park distillery, but the process is part of the fun! Highland Park is Scotland’s northernmost distillery. It’s located in Kirkwall, on the island of Orkney.
Even though this distillery is remote, making the trek is well worth it. It can be hard to find their whiskies in stores. Although it’s one of the ingredients in the Famous Grouse blended whisky, many of their proprietary bottles can only be purchased from their distillery shop.
Their tours emphasize the distillery’s Viking heritage, and offer a chance to sample some of their rarest whiskies. Some of their most exclusive bottles are only available to tour participants.
